A clear plan before anything is built.
Sometimes the right first step is a plan, not code. We review your systems, name the technical risks, and write an implementation plan with clear scope and trade-offs.
Typical deliverables.
Architecture review
A candid look at what you have, what is fragile and what to fix first.
Modernising without a full rebuild
Step-by-step upgrades that keep the business running.
Implementation planning
Scope, sequence, risks and trade-offs written down so decisions are informed.
Technology selection
Choosing tools and vendors for your situation, including “do not build this”.
Signs this is a good fit.
- You are unsure what to build, or whether to build at all
- An old system is slowing you down but a rebuild feels too big
- You need a second opinion before committing budget
Four steps, nothing hidden.
Understand goals and constraints
We start with what the business needs to achieve and the limits you work within, such as budget, timeline, team skills and compliance, before discussing any technology.
Review current systems
We look at the systems, tools and vendors you already have, and how well they serve the work today, so recommendations build on what is worth keeping.
Write the options and trade-offs
You receive the realistic options, for example improving what exists, buying a product or building something new, each with its costs, risks and trade-offs in plain language.
Agree a plan
We agree the next steps with you. You can carry them out with your own team, another vendor or with us; the plan is useful either way.
At the end, it is yours.
A clear summary of the problem
What needs to change and why, in terms the whole team can follow.
Options with trade-offs
Build, buy or improve, compared honestly, including doing less.
An independent view
Advice that is not tied to selling you a particular product or a large build.
A practical plan
Prioritised next steps you can act on with any team.
Common questions.
Do we have to hire Layzox to build what you recommend?
No. The plan is written so that your own team or another vendor can carry it out. If we are the right fit to build it, we can discuss that separately.
Can you review a quote or proposal from another vendor?
Yes. We can review a quote, proposal or existing system and give you a second opinion on scope, risks and cost.
What if the best option is not to build anything?
Then that is what we will recommend. Sometimes a spreadsheet, a checklist or an existing product is the right answer.
How does a consulting engagement start?
With a conversation about the goal and the current situation. We then agree what we will review and what you will receive at the end.
